Several Montenegrin volleyball players had great games last week, which was absolutely dominated by Nikoleta Perović. Danijela Džaković had great games in Azerbaijan, Saška Đurović in Portugal and Simona Petranović in Israel.
Roma reacted to the defeats that followed the continuation of the Italian Serie A2 and returned to winning ways before the start of the next phase of the second-tier competition on the Apennines. They defeated Marale Volej 3:2 with an incredible performance by Nikoleta Perović. Our corrector won as many as 36 points, the seventh most successful scorer in the round before the end of the first part of the league, in which Roma will meet Trento.
In that match, the Romans can reach second position before continuing the fight for promotion with a victory over Meleduno and a defeat against Messina.
Another long-time Montenegrin international was a key player for her team – Danijela Džaković led Mili Avijasija to a victory over Gence, also in five sets. Džaković finished the match with 22 points, the most successful on her team, and Šeron Čepčumba had the same performance on the other side. In the second match during the week, Mili Avijasija defeated the young Azerbaijani national team 3:0 with a rejuvenated lineup, while our volleyball player was resting. Mili Avijasija plays a derby with DH on Friday, a decisive match for second place in the standings.
Porto is unstoppable in the Portuguese championship, and its 14th victory in as many rounds was achieved in a duel with Benfica, which it won 3:0. Our middle blocker Saška Đurović won 10 points. Porto is the leader with only four dropped sets in the championship.
In the 14th round of the Portuguese league, Kairos Milena Ćetković achieved two consecutive victories, after celebrating away at Sao Memedeu 3:1. Our young volleyball player played in the first set, and her team took another step towards the playoffs – they have a record of six wins and eight losses.
In Israel, another excellent performance by Simona Petranović and a victory for her Hapoel. The team from Kfar Saba defeated Maccabi Nazareth 3:0, and the volleyball player from Bar was the best in the triumph with 15 points. Hapoel is third with a score of 9-2, Ashdod is second with all 10 wins, one less than Maccabi Hedera, but also two matches less.
In France, Katarina Budrak's Bordeaux opened 2026 with a 3-1 defeat to Cannes, ahead of a tough match against one of the championship's top teams, Levallois. Budrak picked up nine points in their first match of the year. It was Bordeaux's eighth defeat in 14 rounds and they are currently seventh in the standings.
Kristina Božović was not part of the Finnish team Vampula, which ended its mini-series of victories after the competition resumed. Vampula was defeated by Polki Kusama at home, with a score of 3:0.
In the Serbian First League, the Black and Whites, played by Vanja Matunović, opened the second part of the competition in the league system with a 3:0 victory over Borac in Čačak. Omladinac, played by Kristina Vukčević and Staša Mitrović, will face Volley Star in the 13th round.
In the German Second League, Freiburg Viktoria Čoković suffered their seventh defeat in the 11th round of the competition. They lost to Karlsruhe at home 3:1.
