Budva volleyball players failed to surprise Mladost Zagreb in the fifth match of the MEVZA league. The tournament host won 3:0 (25:23, 25:20, 25:17) at the Bojan Strajnić Hall and secured a place in the final four, while the Montenegrin champion now depends on other results.
Budva must defeat Mursa in the last match of the first phase, in a maximum of four sets, and then wait for the outcome of the Hungarian MAV Elore match. The Hungarian team, played by Ivan Zvicer and coached by Aleksandar Milivojević, was defeated by Mursa after five sets - 3:2.
In this competition, even Buducnost hopes to reach the final four, even though it has played all six matches of the league stage.
The team from Budva played their best in the first set, at the end of which they had a 22:20 advantage, but then Mladost's 4:0 run and a turnaround followed. The team from Zagreb took advantage of the second set point and took the lead in the match.
From that moment on, the home team was in complete control of the game. In the second set, Mladost again made the difference in the finish, while in the third set the advantage was close to double digits, so the team featuring Nikola Đurović recorded its fourth victory in the competition.
Budva's most efficient player was Vukašin Cimbaljević with 16 points, Lazar Dodić added 10, while Balša Radunović scored six. Mladost had 10 players in the scorers' list, and the only player to score in double figures was Jakopoec with 11 points. Nikola Đurović finished the match with one point.
