EPCG Super League: Mornar wins to move into fourth place, Budva and Buducnost secure leading positions

The matches of the 14th round of the EPCG Volleyball Super League have completed the league part of the competition and the playoff pairs have been announced. The most important match was played in Bar, where Mornar celebrated and reached fourth place in the table, while Budva and Buducnost secured the top of the table.

Mornar defeated Jedinstvo 3:0 (25:21, 25:16, 28:26) in a match in which the triumph of Baranje gave the home court advantage in the quarterfinals with Sutjeska. Stefan Radević led the Mornar team with 26 points, Vasilije Božović scored 19, and Lazar Cimbaljević also scored in double figures with 10 points. For Jedinstvo, captain Aleksandar Minić scored 21 points, and the next most efficient was Sergej Čukić with seven points. Jedinstvo finished the league in third place and will play against the team from Ulcinj in the quarterfinals series.

Ulcinj put up a solid resistance to Buducnost at home, but failed to win a set against the runner-up. Podgorica won 3:0 (25:17, 25:20, 25:20) in just over an hour of volleyball. Young Aleksa Radić finished the game with 16 points, and Stefan Petričević with 11, while Filip Mašković and Filip Radić each scored eight. On the other side, Aleksandar Đekić had 13 points, and captain Nikola Ražnatović had nine. Buducnost will face Lovćen in the playoffs, which finished the championship play-offs a round earlier.

A similar scenario was seen in Budva, where the champion defeated Sutjeska 3:0 (25:17, 25:20, 25:19) and finished the league stage with maximum efficiency, while Sutjeska ended up fifth. The tandem Vuk Stanojević – Vukašin Cimbaljević had 17 points each, Matija Ćinćur won nine, and on the other side, former Budva player Vasilije Milenković had 14 points. Budva, as the winner of the first place, secured a place in the semifinals.
