The interesting second leg of the EPCG Super League volleyball playoff semi-final did not bring any surprises – Budva and Buducnost volleyball teams are facing a series of head-to-head matches in the third battle for the trophy this season, after they made a break in Nikšić and Bijelo Polje, respectively.
The match at SC "Nikšić" was spectacular, where Sutjeska, returning to the top 4 after 17 years, came close to a sensation. Budva celebrated after a great turnaround 3:2 (27:29, 19:25, 25:15, 25:17, 15:6). The host won the first set against Budva in history after a great fight, 29:27, although the defending champion opened the match with a 7:0 lead. Despite this, Sutjeska had the first set point, after a 3:0 series for 24:23, and used the fifth to take the lead. Sutjeska led throughout the second set, which they concluded with five points without an answer from their rivals and came to a set from the master, which Budva did not allow.
Miljan Bošković sent the game's leaders onto the court and it was evident on the scoreboard – Radunović and Dodić showed all their quality, they were followed by the young receiver Stanojević, and Sutjeska made too many mistakes against the big favorite. In the end, what was not enough for Mladen Novović's team was that the main players combined for almost 50 points – Vasilije Milenković had 26, Vladan Stanojević 22. Budva had four players in double figures – Balša Radunović won 16 points in three sets, Vuk Stanojević one point less, Vukašin Cimbaljević counted up to 11 in the two opening sets, as did Lazar Dodić, who did not play only in the first set.
The Buducnost team had a great team game in Bijelo Polje, in which they secured their place in the finals by defeating Jedinstvo 3:1 (25:12, 22:25, 25:20, 25:24). Dalibor Načić's team put up a good fight against the favorites, but that was only enough for the second set. Buducnost had answers to all the hosts' attempts and scheduled another final with Budva. Radić's team was led to victory by Aleksa Nikolić with 17 and Marko Vukašinović with 16 points, Marko Sinđelić scored 14, and Luka Lojić scored 11. For Jedinstvo, Vukašin Tuzlančić was the most efficient with 15 points, and Aleksandar Minić and Sergej Čukić scored 11 each.
The start of the final series, in which the game is played to three wins, and in which Budva will have home court advantage as the winner of the league part of the championship, is planned for April 18th.
