The head coach of the Montenegrin men's volleyball team, Ivica Jevtić, is leaving Red Star after three years.
Jevtić won the Serbian title and the Super Cup with Red Star in 2024, and last year he extended his contract for two seasons.
"As we agreed when I arrived, so we have agreed now when I leave the club. Red Star needs new blood and I need a new environment so that both they and I can progress at this moment. I am proud of the championship title and the Super Cup that we have won in these three years. Maybe we could have done more, but I believe that we all gave our maximum at the given moment. I wish Red Star all the best," said Jevtić.
The Montenegrin coach denied rumors that he would continue his career in Turkey.
"I heard that I was being moved to Turkey, but to be honest, I am surprised by this information, which is not true. I am currently focused on national team obligations with the Montenegrin national team, and the managers have my permission to find a new club, so we will see," Jevtić pointed out.
During his coaching career, Jevtić was on Igor Kolaković's coaching staff in the senior Serbian national team (2022-2024), and was also the coach of the U22 men's volleyball team of Serbia.
