Like the volleyball men, the women's volleyball team achieved their first victory in the new season of the European League yesterday - Montenegro defeated Georgia 3:1 in Bar.
After losing the first match to Slovenia (3:0), Montenegro ended the first weekend in the best possible way.
Except for the second set, when there was a slight decline in play, Montenegro completely controlled the events in "Topolica" and deservedly achieved triumph.
"I congratulate the players and the coaching staff on this victory. I hope there will be more and that this triumph will be the impetus for the coming days and matches we will play. At one point the match was uncertain, but after that we got serious and played a great third and fourth set," said coach Jovo Caković after the match.
Saška Đurović was also satisfied.
"I congratulate the team on their great victory, as well as Georgia on their fantastic game. We had some weak moments in the second set, which we lost, but we managed to come back," Đurović pointed out.
The next destination in the European League is the Romanian volleyball center Blaž, where on Saturday, June 13, the rival will be Albania, and the tournament host the day after, while our volleyball players will play the final matches in the European League in Pristina, against Kosovo and Hungary on June 19 and 20, respectively.
