After a safe match against Georgia in Bar, the Montenegrin women's volleyball team defeated Albania at the opening of the second European League tournament, hosted by Romanian Blaž.
It was 3:0 (25:14, 25:11, 25:18) for Jovo Caković's team, which did the job in just over an hour.
Albania had a point advantage throughout the match only after the first point of the second set, and Saška Đurović and her teammates were more than confident. They settled the first set when they won six consecutive points at 7:5, then made two more 4:0 runs, including one for the lead, 25:14.
The "reds" responded to Albania's winning point at the opening of the second half of the match in the Alba Blaž Hall with six straight points - the largest advantage in that part of the match was plus 15 (20:5), so the winner of the second set could not be questioned.
A similar scenario occurred in the third set, in which Caković rotated, giving minutes to younger players, and Albania was unable to threaten - 25:18.
The starting lineup played a perfect match until the end - Simona Petranović was the most efficient with 15 points, Saška Đurović scored one point less, and Dijana Vuković had 13.
Teodora Čavić also scored in double figures, while Mina Dragović finished with nine. Nađa Peković, who is only 16 years old, was the starting technician and scored five points.
Anastasija Koprivica also joined the list of scorers. Sonia Sulejmani was the most efficient player for Albania with six points.
The triumph in the first match in Romania is the impetus for a good game in the duel with the host, tomorrow at 3:30 PM.
