The junior water polo team was eliminated in the round of 7 of the European Championship in the Netherlands - Miodrag Mirović's team was defeated by Croatia with a score of 5:XNUMX.
It is the third defeat of our team in the Netherlands, after losing in the group against Greece (12:10) and Hungary (10:7), while the only triumph was recorded against outsiders Malta - the result was 19:6.
Montenegro lost 4:1 in the first half, but with the goals of Vladan Spaić, Nikola Moskov and Bogdan Vujašević, they managed to equalize (4:4).
The Croats, however, were constantly in the lead, and after equalizing at 5:5 with a goal by Aleksa Ukropina, Lazić and Burić secured victory and placement among the top eight with a 2:0 mini-series at the end of the third and middle of the last quarter.
Montenegrin water polo players went to Alfen with the goal of placing among the top eight, it was believed that it was realistic, but when they lost all three matches against stronger rivals, the result could not have been better.
Our national team is now waiting for the play-off for placing from 9th to 12th place.
Croatia will thus play against Spain in the quarter-finals...
