Director of the Administration for Youth and Sports, Igor Vušurović, received today in Villa Gorica the junior water polo team that won silver at the World Championship held in Podgorica.
Vušurović pointed out that he hopes that the water polo players will fulfill their dream at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020.
"In the previous period, your names and surnames were associated with Montenegro. I am sure that will be the case in the future as well, and we will try to provide you with good sports program development," Vušurović said at the reception.
In addition to the result, which is undoubtedly great, Vušurović also underlined the visit to the stands of SC "Morača"...
"It's a great victory. You saw how cruel sports can be, so in the final you didn't reach your dream of winning a gold medal. As cruel as it is, it's just as fair and just, it gives you the opportunity to take revenge on your opponents at the next European Championship and prove your quality," said Vušurović and added that young players are privileged to work with coaches such as Veljko Uskoković, Mirko Vičević and Vladimir Gojković.
Captain Aleksa Ukropina thanked Vušurović on behalf of the national team and handed him a ball with the signatures of the players and coaching staff.
"I hope there will be more receptions," said Ukropina.
Selector Veljko Uskoković noted how small the Montenegrin water polo base is.
"Podgorica has shown that it is a real sports city and that it can organize big competitions. We are proud that we played in the final and that we left behind many superpowers. We draw potential from four clubs, I hope there will be more soon," he said. is a legendary water polo player.
