The Montenegrin juniors did not win the gold, Croatia was better in the end and deserved to win the title at the WC in Podgorica.
"Croatia deservedly won, it was better, although we also had our moments. The result was uncertain for three quarters, we took turns in the lead, but in the last we conceded a strange goal from a set-off and we simply stopped there. The opponent knew that use it to the end," said coach Veljko Uskoković and added:
"Our attack didn't work with the player more and a few other little things that we believed would work. The player was more of our characteristic during this championship, we knew how the opponent would play, but we failed to find the key to Croatia's defense," Uskoković pointed out.
Still, silver is not a failure.
"This is a good result, because this team made a step forward compared to some earlier competitions. We have been together for a long time, we had a continuity of good games at the Mediterranean Cup here as well. We played a good tournament, without a single easy game, maybe that was felt .
Did the pressure hold the team back?
"We tried to relieve the team as much as possible. However, a few banal mistakes, which should not happen, are the result of this atmosphere and pressure to which we may have partially succumbed.
Aleksa Ukropina congratulated the team.
"I congratulate my teammates on the silver. We don't hide that we expected gold, but Croatia was better and I congratulate them. The player didn't work for us anymore. I still claim that we are the strongest team individually and time will tell. We have to work, to deserve the invitation to the senior national team and we are bringing new successes," said Ukropina.
