The triumph was practically within reach - the Novljans drew with Eger (11:11) and the distribution of points is much more for the guests from Hungary, who arrived in Igalo as favorites.
This is the second draw for the Montenegrin champion, after he played without a winner at home with Spandau, and he also has two defeats (against Primorje in his pool and Barceloneta in Catalonia).
Jadran really has reason to regret the victory in this game, because they missed many chances and missed the opportunity to avoid an uncertain ending.
The last zicer in the match, out of a total of three big ones that Jadran had, was not used by Stefan Vidović, with the score 11:10 - he missed a counterattack, face to face with the goalkeeper, exactly one minute and 40 seconds before the end. He was outwitted by Serbian goalkeeper Branislav Mitrović...
The penalty had to follow, and it was only seen for about twenty seconds, when Norbert Hošnjanski checkmate Slaven Kandić in sovm style and signed a draw.
Nikola Janović was the most effective in the Jadran team with four goals (one from the penalty box), Miroslav Ranđić and Stefan Pješivac each scored twice, and Aleksa Ukropina, Vladan Spaić and Vidović scored once each in Eger's net.
The team from Škver thus remained in last place in group A with two points, and the Champions League continues in February next year. Jadran's first opponent in 2016 on the international stage will be Olympiakos in Piraeus.
