The cadet water polo team won first place at the "Darko Čukić" memorial tournament, which was held in Belgrade, with the performance of five victories in the same number of games.
In the final, the young "sharks" defeated Serbia with a score of 10:9 after five games, which was their only defeat in the tournament.

"We were dominant throughout the tournament. We played well, much better than in the tournament three months ago, which we also won, when we beat Croatia and Serbia with a goal difference. In the final, we had a lot of chances, missed a lot of shots... That's normal for young players, still on the away field, and the pressure was high. However, we managed to get back into the match, equalize and win on penalties. Congratulations to the players and coaching staff, I think we did everything we needed to in the season with this generation We will see when the other competitions for the second generation are over who will lead the selections, and next year we have two big competitions, the World and European Championships, and again this tournament for the younger team of the year. It is certain that at the end of September or the beginning of October we will have some plan", said Gojković for the official website of the Water Polo Association of Montenegro.
The tournament in Sombatelj, Hungary, for players born in 1995 and younger, also ended today.
Montenegro, which awaits the European Championship in Tbilisi next week, lost to Hungary 7:5 in the last round.
Mirko Vičević's team finished the tournament with a win (better than Germany) and two defeats (against Hungary and Italy).
