The junior water polo team of Montenegro (U18) traveled to Sombatelj, Hungary, where they will participate in the World Championship from Saturday to August 19.
Sombatelj will host the 20 best selections in the world, and the young "sharks" will play in group A with Egypt, Australia, South Africa and Brazil.
"We are satisfied with the preparations, the first game is against Australia on Saturday and we hope to open the championship well," coach Petar Radanović said before the departure.
Montenegro plays against Australia on Saturday (10.50:16 a.m.), South Africa (50:15 p.m.) the following day, and Brazil (30:XNUMX p.m.) on Monday.
After a day of rest, in the last match of the group, on August 15, the "Sharks" will play Egypt (10:50).
The first-placed teams from all four groups will advance directly to the quarterfinals, while the second-placed and third-placed teams will play in the round of XNUMX.
"The goal is to be the first in the group, which would ensure entry into the eight teams. We are going to the championship weakened without last year's captain Miroslav Perković, but we believe in each other and will do our best to enter the fight for medals. It will not be easy at all, but we guarantee that we will give the maximum," added Radanović.
The colors of Montenegro in Hungary will be defended by Andrej Bosanac, Vuk Drašković, Uroš Vučurović, Aljoša Mačić, Igor Uskoković, Danilo Radović, Jovan Vujović, Martin Gardašević, Luka Murišić, Marko Milić, Nenad Dragović, Marjan Mitrović, Bogdan Radnjić.
In addition to coach Petar Radanović, the coaching staff includes assistants Miodrag Matković and Marko Gopčević, doctor Vladimir Dedović and team manager Igor Martinović.
