The main goal of the Budva water polo players at the upcoming second qualifying tournament for the Champions League will be to get the team together, said the coach of the Budva team, Drago Pejaković.
Budva water polo players will participate in the second qualifying tournament for placement in the Champions League, which will be played in Genoa from Friday to Sunday.
Rivals of Budva in the tournament, in addition to home team Pro Rek, will be Radnički from Kragujevac and Mladost from Zagreb.
Pejaković said that the Budva team will try to make the most of the trip to Genoa in order to improve their competitive form.
"It is known how high-quality the teams are that we will play against at the tournament in Genoa. We have not played many competitive matches since the beginning of the season, the team has changed a lot, so the games at the tournament will help us raise our level of form before the upcoming obligations," Pejaković said. agency MINA.
He said that Budva's water polo players will not perform in Genoa with the strongest team, so younger players will get a chance.
"The players will try to learn lessons in the matches against strong rivals, experienced water polo players, in order to prepare for what awaits us. It is certain that we will not give up in advance in any game, but there is an evident difference in quality between us and our rivals," said Pejakovic.
According to him, the qualifying tournament will serve his team well before the continuation of the competition in the Triglav Adriatic Water Polo League.
"After the performance in Genoa, we have a meeting with Šibenik and then with Primorje in Kotor. We will use the strong matches that we will play in a short period of time to raise the level of the game and eliminate any shortcomings," said Pejaković.
Placement in the Champions League will be won by the two first-placed teams from the tournament, while the third-placed team will continue the competition in the EURO Cup.
