The quarterfinal match between Croatia and Montenegro will be a treat that has been awaited since the first round. The match will be played on Tuesday at 10.40:XNUMX a.m. our time.
- We expected to play against Montenegro, even from the very beginning that option was considered the most likely. We know the Montenegrins and their game well, and on the other hand, we are in a good condition, there are no injuries.
It will certainly be difficult, though. Montenegro has found the game, it's working well, and it arrived here without a big burden, because it doesn't have several important players.
But now comes the pressure, the game to be or not to be, so it will be the same for both teams. There will be great psychological tension on both sides, I think the chances are equal, and I believe in us - said Croatian coach Ratko Rudić.
Different paths
Montenegrin coach Petar Porobićje noted that the two teams had completely different paths to the quarterfinals.
- Croatia and we had two completely different paths, which were determined by the draw - explains Porobić. - We played three tough games, in which we "lost" so that we wouldn't have a repeat of Rome, and on the other hand, the Croatian national team practically starts the World Cup on Tuesday.
I don't remember the last time it was like that. They had three easy games, then a break during the quarterfinals, for them the World Cup lasts four days. Whether it will be the advantage of the European champions or ours, we'll see, I can't really be decisive about that.
