The young water polo team of Montenegro registered its second victory at the World Championship in Kuwait.
The U20 selection was better than Iran 17:6, and tomorrow they will fight Hungary for a place in the quarterfinals (14.10:XNUMX p.m. our time).
Veljko Uskoković's team justified its role as the absolute favorite in the last match in the group, and Petar Mijušković was the most effective in the sure triumph - he scored four goals from as many attempts.
Nebojša Vušković scored three goals, Dušan Matković and Uroš Vučurović scored two each, and Savo Ćetković, Aljoša Mačić, Danilo Radović, Miroslav Perković, Vuk Drašković and Branko Franeta scored one each.
"There is not much to say about the Hungarians - it will be extremely difficult. Hungary expects a good placement, and we are convinced that we have a chance to play well. We are growing from match to match at the WC and I expect the contribution of each individual in the round of XNUMX. The Hungarians are strong in in all positions - from centers, to defenders, goalkeepers, left-handed strikers... They play recognizable, with a lot of movements and counterattacks, and we have to stop that," Uskoković said.
Montenegro thus won third place in group C, behind Italy and the United States of America, while Hungary was second in group B.
"Iran served as training for the round of XNUMX and the duel with Hungary, which is known for its excellent counterattack and we have to stop that. We have two excellent centers and I hope we can use that," said Franeta.
If they eliminate Hungary, Montenegro would play against Serbia in the quarter-finals.
