Reko, the biggest water polo force for more than a decade, won the organization of the final tournament, everything was ready to celebrate, but it turned out that there are still several very serious teams in Europe.
Vladimir Vujasinović's team was tormented by Breš in the F8 quarter-finals (they fell after five-pointers), then in the semi-finals by Jug (it was 9:8), but Olympiakos did not miss the chance - they celebrated with 9:7 and created a small sensation.
The Greeks were in the finals in the 2015/16 season, then the title was stolen from them by the South, but this time everything went their way - Croats Josip Pavić, Paulo Obradović and Andro Bušlje, with the support of the Greek national team, gave Rek a blow in the season in which he wanted absolutely all trophies.
In the final, it was goal for goal until the third quarter when the Greeks took the lead 6:4, but Reko came back and leveled the score at 6:6. However, that was all from the Italians who allowed the opponent to go 3:0 with a 9:6 series and secure the title.
Montenegrin national team player and defender Pro Reka Aleksandar Ivović, who was twice European champion with the team from Genoa, scored one goal in the final.
The best player in the winning team was Joanis Fudulis with four goals.
