The next ten days will offer an answer to the question of whether and in what form Montenegrin sports will continue.
In water polo, specifically, everything is still in the fog, although it is already time when training could be organized outdoors. That is why the Water Polo and Swimming Association of Montenegro sent a letter to the address of NKT and the Institute for Public Health.
- We have addressed the authorities with the desire to allow us to start training from May 15, so that the players can at least return to the water after a long time. Of course, we would do all this while respecting the prescribed measures - says Radovan Milinić, Acting Director of the Water Polo Association.
The senior teams of Jadran, Budva, Primorje and Katar, their younger selections, all representative selections..., are waiting for an answer, they hope that it will be positive.
The championship of Montenegro is scheduled to be played through a playoff in which four teams would participate.
- We would solve that on the fly. We hope that we could use the second half of May for preparations, and then see if there are conditions to finish the championship and in what way. It is certainly possible for the championship to conclude with the final tournament, it is not too late to win the champion in July or August, Milinić points out.
The question is what will happen with the regional league. In the A1 competition, the regular part has ended, and the final four (originally planned for April 3 and 4) has been postponed. The two-match playoff for survival between Partizan and Primorje remains to be played.
Placement on F4 was ensured by Jug, Mladost, Jadran Carine and Jadran from Split. Croatian teams started swimming the day before yesterday, and in incomplete squads, after a month and a half break, the Montenegrin representative is still waiting for what the authorities will say...
- This is what life means to us. We had training sessions via video link, and now we have to get used to water again, which is our natural environment - said Jug coach Vjekoslav Kobešćak.
