Jadran Carine is still on the right course when it comes to qualifying for the Champions League final, but tomorrow's match in Sabadell will definitely give a clearer picture of whether the young team from Herceg Novi has the strength to go all the way.
In the first six rounds, Sabadelj recorded only one victory (overcame the weakest team in group B, Alfen), so Novljan has the role of favorite, but...
"The standings in the table must not deceive us, because Sabadelj is an unpleasant team. This is a very important match for us, we have to win if we want to keep our chances of reaching the final tournament and we will do everything to achieve our goal," said the most experienced Jadran first team player Dragan Drašković.
After six matches, the Montenegrin champion has three triumphs, a draw with Eger in their pool, and defeats against Pro Rek and Solnok.
Everything that has happened in the group so far is, after all, expected, and the only surprise was Spandau, which was better than Solnok, the current European champion, in Berlin.
The same Spandau easily won Jadran at the start of the Champions League in Igalo - it was 11:5.
"I hope for a good game that would bring us closer to victory. In the Champions League, the motive is always great, surely the opponent will have it, but I believe that we have the quality to get through this away game as well," said Drašković.
This season, Jadran has maximum performance away from home, as it celebrated in duels with Alfena in the Netherlands and Steaua in Bucharest.
Coach Vladimir Gojković cannot count on center Vladan Spaić in this match either...
"It's bad luck for us. We all have to do our best to make up for Spaić's absence," concluded Drašković.
The duel in Sabadell starts at 19:2 with a live broadcast on TV Arenasport XNUMX.
Pairs of the 7th round - group A (Wednesday): Olympiakos - Jug, Breša - Partizan, OSC - Dinamo Moscow; Thursday: Barceloneta - Hanover;
Group B (Tuesday): Sabadell - Adriatic Customs; Wednesday: Spandau - Pro Reko, Solnok - Eger, Alfen - Steaua.
