The head coach of the Montenegrin water polo team, Vladimir Gojković, has selected 15 players for the Final World League tournament, which will be played from June 26 to July 1 in Tbilisi.
Our selection will play in group B with USA, Japan and Georgia, while in group A there are selections from Italy, Greece, France and Kazakhstan.
The list includes:
Slaven Kandić, Draško Brguljan, Miroslav Perković, Marko Petković, Uroš Čučković, Dimitrije Obradović, Stefan Vidović, Aleksa Ukropina, Aleksandar Ivović, Vladan Spaić, Dušan Matković, Dušan Banićević, Petar Tešanović, Dragan Drašković and Vasilije Radović.
Gojković will be able to count on 13 players in each match.
"We can be satisfied with the preparations we conducted in Ostia with the Italian national team. These are always demanding preparations because of the way they play. We had problems with injuries in the previous days, some players managed to recover, some did not. As for the list, mostly, most of the players we wanted to be there are there. I expect that the injured players will join the selection after Georgia and that their injuries are not of a serious nature," said Gojković.
The World League is just a prelude to the Olympics.
"We didn't specially prepare for this tournament in Tbilisi, but as in any competition we want to record as many victories as possible, the best possible placement and to fight for a medal. The World League will give us a picture of the current possibilities and let us see what to work on and how would go to the Olympic Games as prepared as possible," said Gojković.
Montenegro will play its first match on June 26 against the USA at 14.45:16.30 p.m., the next day it will be against Georgia at 18.15:XNUMX p.m., and in the last round against Japan at XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.
After that, the quarter-final matches will be played.
