Today, captain Draško Brguljan wore the cap of the Montenegrin national team for the 350th time in his career.
The "Sharks" defeated Japan in the 3rd round of Group B at the final tournament of the World League - it was 16:8, and their rival in the quarter-finals is Kazakhstan (tomorrow from 18:XNUMX).
"It's always a phenomenal feeling to play for the national team, a special honor. And I made it to the 350th game also because I love this sport so much. There won't be too many, but I'm looking forward to each next one. With age, both speed and strength are leaving me, but I raised my motivation to the maximum. I enjoy this and it's a pleasure to play with these guys," Brguljan said.
The coach Vladimir Gojković was satisfied with the group's performance.
"They gave us a lot of problems in the first two quarters until we found a way to play against them. We were engaged, the defense was good and when we started to create chances, then it stopped against Japan. We have to be satisfied with three wins in the group, now it's time for the quarter-finals and every next game is the most important. That's how we think, because we want to go to the very end. We will seriously approach Kazakhstan as well," Gojković pointed out.
Aleksa Ukropina scored three goals against the Japanese.
"We fulfilled what we wanted in the group. Now we have an easier opponent in the quarter-finals. We expect an easy match against Kazakhstan, but it will be more difficult than the semi-finals," said the left-handed attacker.
