The repeated Electoral Assembly of the Water Polo and Swimming Association of Montenegro did not bring any surprises.
It was not even expected - Đuro Marić was re-elected as the president of the VPSCG by receiving 11 of the 12 votes of the delegates who were present at today's session in Podgorica.
VPSCG, by the way, has 17 delegates with the right to vote.
Mirza Krcić from Primorje was elected president of the VPSCG Assembly, and Nenad Vukanić, the first man of the Kotor club, was elected vice-president of the Association.
"We continue where we left off - to work on improving the conditions for the development of water polo and swimming. We have an extremely demanding year ahead of us. Seniors are expecting four major competitions, our younger categories will participate in three championships, of which Montenegro is hosting the European Championship for U19 national teams ", said Marić and added:
"Our swimmers also expect numerous competitions, of which we single out the European and world championships in large and small swimming pools. So, an extremely demanding year, especially in terms of finances, but we hope that with the help of the state and sponsors, we will succeed in providing our athletes with good conditions for work," said Marić.
Marić was first elected president on May 15 last year, but recently the Sports Inspectorate found irregularities when scheduling the Electoral Assembly, and then the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports made a decision to hold a new one.
Last summer, Marić's opponent was the famous water polo player Mirko Vičević, now he had no rival in the fight for the leading position in the Federation.
