Igor Milanović's team took a 50:13 lead 12 seconds before the end, with the sixth goal of an extremely motivated Nikola Jakšić, but the Italian team equalized with Gergo Zalanki's fifth goal 12 seconds before the final whistle, in an attack with one more player.

The championship cup was raised by the captain of Pro Reka and the legend of Montenegrin and world water polo, Aleksandar Ivović, who gave the first five-pointer for his team.
