"The goal was to enter the eight and it was achieved. We have the youngest team at the World Cup, with a lot of oscillations in the game, but what was set before it - with more or less difficulty was fulfilled. The attitude towards the game and the national team is at exceptional level and I am very satisfied from that point of view. It is normal that you always want more and better, so far we have achieved what we had to, we will see if there will be more in the next matches," said Marić.

With the new generation, patience must be shown in the work.

"We are a small country, but expectations are always high. There has been a change of generations, it is difficult for the fans to understand that we no longer have Zloković, Gojković, Jokić, Ivović, the Janović brothers... That these are new guys, but who have shown that they have potential and that the future is in front of them," Marić pointed out.

The rival in the quarter-finals is Spain on Wednesday at 19.30:XNUMX.

"The Spaniards, along with the Hungarians, are the biggest favorites for the gold. They have almost the same squad from the Olympic Games in Tokyo and behind them are many semi-finals and finals from previous competitions. They took medals and are one of the toughest rivals, but this is an opportunity for our boys without the burden they see what their possibilities are at this moment," concluded Marić.
