The Hungarians could not forgive coach Tamas Merc for the failure at the World Cup and only seventh place in Budapest.
The Hungarian Water Polo Association announced today that it has mutually terminated its cooperation with Merca, and that it will appoint his successor at the meeting of the Board of Directors on Wednesday.
Hungarian media speculate that the candidates to succeed him are Danijel Varga (coach of OSC), Zholt Varga (FTC), and Sandor Cech, the former head of Solnok's coaching staff.
