The junior water polo team of Montenegro will participate in the World Championship in Belgrade from August 11 to 19.
At the start of the competition, Montenegro will play South Africa tomorrow (17), two days later the rival is Canada (10:30), while in the third round, on August 15, the opponent is Spain (10:30).
The winners of the groups will advance to the quarterfinals, while the second and third placers will play in the round of XNUMX.
"We had several good tests during the summer. Starting with the Mediterranean Games where we managed to win a silver medal. A few days of preparation in Serbia, and then sparring matches with the Netherlands and Serbia in Podgorica. We worked hard, the boys were at the level, and now the main thing starts. I'm sure that every player will give their maximum and represent the country in the right way. We can match all teams, but we'll go match by match. The most important thing is that the boys give their best, and we'll see what result is enough for ", coach Vido Lompar said before departure.
Lompar announced the list of 13 players for that competition: Andrija Bjelica, Balša Vučković, Danilo Dragović, Danilo Stupar, Pavle Krivokapić, Miloš Vukšić, Vladan Vukićević, Mlađan Janović, Lazar Vukićević, Neđo Baštrica, Milan Nikaljević, Meldin Hadžić and Dušan Vuković.
In addition to Lompar, the professional staff includes assistant coaches Nikola Mijanović and Petar Radanović, physiotherapist Dušan Kečina and video analyst Vasko Vučković.
