Montenegrin water polo clubs achieved excellent results at the big tournament for juniors (U12 and U14) in the "Tomo Udovicic" category and returned from Dubrovnik with three medals and one fourth place.
Jadran from Herceg Novi was the best in the competition of players up to 12 years old. Young water polo players from Novi beat Zagreb's Mladost 8:6 in the final.
In the battle for the trophy, three goals were scored by Aleksa Čurović, two each by Aleksa Ivović and Uroš Sijerković, and one by Marko Pavlović.
Jadran was previously better than Split Jadran B 14:2, Novi Belgrade 13:2, Budućnost 7:3 and Šabac 6:3, and in the semi-finals they defeated Primorac 11:8 in the Montenegrin derby.
In the fight for third place, young Kotor players were defeated by Italian Lazio 10:8. Primorac beat Galatasaray 9:3, Jadran Split 9:4, Zemun 12:3 and KPK 6:3 on the way to the semi-finals.
In the competition of players up to 14 years old, Jadran reached the final, where they were stopped by Šabac, who won 14:11.
The Jadran U14 team won the finals against the Spanish Terasa 12:3, the Italian Orizonte 9:5, the Greek Aris 8:4, the Dubrovnik Jug 9:4, the Spanish Euskadiko 9:3, and in the semi-finals they defeated Budućnost 11:7, which then Medveščak won 13:7 in the fight for third place.
On the way to the medal, the young Podgorica team was better than Barcelona B 11:6, Dinamo Bucharest 12:6 and Galeb 11:0, while they played with Lazio 7:7, and in the quarterfinals they beat Roma 9:7.
Three young Jadran players received individual awards. Uroš Sijerković was declared the best player in the U12 competition, and Stefan Vraneš in the U14 category, while the best U12 goalkeeper was Mateja Kišić.
At the "Tomo Udovicic" tournament, which is considered the best in Europe for players aged 12 and 14, in addition to Jadran, Budućnosti and Primorje, Budva and Aquatic Verde, which had the best scorer in the U14 tournament, Luka, participated in both categories. Cerović (36 goals).
64 teams from Montenegro, Croatia, Serbia, Spain, Italy, Hungary, Greece, Turkey, Romania and Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in the tournament, and 212 games were played over five days.
