It's time for the denouement in Dubrovnik - the Montenegrin water polo players will play host Croatia tonight from 20.15:XNUMX, after which it will be clear from which position they will travel to Zagreb for the final of the European Championship.
Before the last 32 minutes in group A, nothing has been decided yet, and regardless of the fact that Vladimir Gojković's men only have a win after the five-a-side, they can still win a direct place in the quarterfinals even as first place.
This will happen only in a slightly unrealistic outcome, because the "sharks" need a victory over Croatia, but also for France to surprise Spain.
What is much more important is the placement among the top eight, and thus the February World Championship in Doha, Montenegro holds in its hands, because the victory over the "barracudas" brings it second place and the second ticket to the quarterfinals - of course after 32 minutes, because the triumph in the regular course it brings three points, and after five points two points.
And while the two best selections from the group are expected to go directly to the eight, the remaining two national teams for the quarterfinals will have to fight through the playoffs.
Our selection will finish in third position in case of defeat by Croatia and victory of Spain, and in fourth position if France wins the "fury".
If Montenegro finishes Group A as the first in the quarterfinals, they will play against the better of the duel winners of Group D (most likely Romania) and the fourth-placed team from Group B (probably Georgia).
The second place of the "sharks" would lead to the winner of the duel between the second-placed selection of group D and the third-placed team from B.
If our national team finishes in third place in the playoffs, they will play against the runner-up from Group C (probably Germany), and if they finish last in Group A, they will fight against Serbia for a place in the quarterfinals.
