In the final of the European Water Polo Championship, Croatia and Spain will meet, rivals from the first round of Group A, which also included Montenegro.
It will not only be a fight for the throne, but also for qualifying for the Olympic Games and therefore a more relaxed performance at the World Championship next month in Doha.
After the Spaniards beat Italy (7:4) earlier today, the "barracudas" were better than Hungary in a much more uncertain semi-final match - the host of the Euros won 11:8 and has a chance to win the third title of the European champion.
The Croats won the first two when they were the hosts - in 2010 also in Zagreb and in 2022 in Split.
For two quarters, the match between Croatia and Hungary looked like a clash of giants, in the third the host began to break the resistance of the rival, and then broke it in the middle of the last period when it reached a three-goal lead for the first time (9:6).
Jerko Marinić Kragić was the most effective in the Croatian team with three goals (two from the box), Adam Nađ and Vince Vigvari had the same effect in the defeated team.
Croatia defeated Spain in the group by five points, and the final match is on Tuesday from 20.15.
