The water polo national team of Montenegro is competing for the 5th to 8th place at the World Championship.

The "Sharks" were defeated by Spain 15:12 in the quarter-finals of the tournament in Doha, so even after four years they could not get to the fight for a medal at the biggest competitions.

Spain dominated, so everything was settled after three quarters when they led 13:7 after a 5:0 run.

"Besides the quality, the difference was also visible in the fact that the Spaniards had more rest days. They were stronger in the duels, and we opened the match again, this happens to us several matches in a row. However, at 8:7 I believed that we back in the match," said coach Vladimir Gojković and added:

"Poor execution by the players in the 3rd quarter opened the attack for Spain to decide the match.
