The great Adriatic series has ended, the long-awaited moment has come to celebrate in Kotor - Primorac won the title of champion of Montenegro in a season that reminded how exciting club water polo in the country can be.
In the third match of the final series, Kotor defeated their rival from Bokele, the second time they did it after five points (16:14, regular course 11:11), so they are celebrating the first championship trophy after 16 years...
Vjekoslav Pasković brought him to them from the coaching position, after he participated in the first two (2007 and 2008) as a player.
Primorac was more prepared for this final than Jadran, "excited" to dethrone Novlja - he won the title even though he did not have the advantage of the home pool, by celebrating twice in ten days at Škver...
And tonight, as on Wednesday in Kotor, each quarter was a story of its own, Jadran had a two-goal advantage, but could not find a way to break the game and return the series to the ancient city.
The last time the home team had plus two was 35 seconds before the end of the third quarter when Danilo Radović scored for 10:8, but the guests' series followed with a 3:0 run that was rounded off by Marko Mršić five and a half minutes before the end of the match.
Jovan Vujović later scored a five-pointer, and only one shot made the difference - Jadra's left-handed Russian Ivan Nagaev hit the post in the first series, and Primorac (just like in the second match) was perfect in shots from five meters.
Safe were Marković, Mršić, Srđan Janović, Petar Ćetković and Đorđije Stanojević, who brought down the curtain on the season in style by making Kotor celebrate, and Jadran mourns for the first time in nine years because he was left without the cup, which is as usual been in his display cases...
The most effective in the winning team was Mršić with four goals, Marković and Stanojević scored three each.
Dmitrij Holod was the four-time scorer in Jadran.
