After nine years, silver (2016) and bronze (2020) from the European championships, Vladimir Gojković left the bench of the water polo team of Montenegro.
The former great master in the pool left behind a rejuvenated selection, but also Montenegrin water polo at a moment when something will have to change in order for the "sharks" to be European and world leaders again.
Because of everything, Gojković's former teammate from the days when Montenegro was one of the strongest national teams on the planet, Nikola Janović believes that the former coach still has a place in Montenegrin water polo.
"As a friend and teammate, I wish you much success in your future career and I hope you will stay with our water polo," Janović wrote on the X social network.
The former "shark" captain continued in a similar tone...
"We have gone through historical victories, ups and downs together. Now we all have to find a way to new successes together. We owe it to Montenegro and the generations to come," concluded Janović.
Montenegro ended its performance at the Olympic Games in Paris in the group stage, and since Gojković's contract with the Water Polo and Swimming Association expired after the Games, it was agreed that he would not be a candidate for the new coach.
