It seemed that a solution for the water polo matches between Primorje and Croatian clubs had been found, and then a clear message arrived from Dubrovnik - Jug does not want to host the Kotor club on a neutral pool.
The president of Primorje, Siniša Kovačević, recently said that he and the president of the Regional Water Polo League and vice-president of HVS, Peric Bukić, agreed that Kotorani would play five matches against Croatian clubs at a neutral pool in Montenegro, and also that the Croatian representatives would play matches at neutral pools. in his country.
However, the club from Dubrovnik does not agree with such a decision.
"The board of VK Jug at the session held on September 11, 2024, unanimously made a decision: Our club will not play home games against Kotor's Primorje as part of the Regional Water Polo League at a 'neutral' pool, and we can only be hosts at our pool in Dubrovnik, in Gruž", announced Jug.
The problem between Primorje and Croatian clubs arose because of the name of the renovated swimming pool in Kotor, which now bears the name of the famous Kotor club water polo player Zoran Džimi Gopčević.
From Croatia, he is accused of war crimes in the Morinj camp, so at the insistence of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of that country, a decision was made that Croatian clubs and the national team will not visit Kotor.
