On the occasion of winning the silver medal at the European Championship in Bulgaria and the world bronze medal in Argentina, the President of the Municipality of Kotor Vladimir Jokić hosted a formal reception today for the junior representatives of Montenegro in water polo and the members of the professional staff from that city.
Congratulating once again on the achieved result, the mayor of Kotor expressed his gratitude to the medal winners for the dignified representation of the city and the country at such respectable competitions. He praised their game and effort in the pool, saying that the medals won are a new confirmation of the quality of our water polo sport. He emphasized that the Municipality of Kotor will continue to support the most trophy-winning sport in Montenegro, reminding that Kotor continuously produces the largest number of national team members.
The European vice-champions from Kotor are: Andrija Bjelica, Andrija Roganović, Draško Samardžić, Tim Perov, Srđan Janović, Miloš Milinić, Balša Vučković and Đorđe Pejović.
With the exception of Bjelica and Vučković, they also participated in the World Championship for players under 18 in Argentina this summer, where they won a bronze medal. With them in South America were Ivan Marković, Miloš Vukašinović and Marko Pejović, who also attended today's reception.
Mlađan Janović, Vasko Vučković, Uroš Čučković and Veselin Mišković were part of the professional staff that led young water polo players to success in Argentina and Bulgaria.
In addition to individual prizes of 500 euros, Jokić also presented special gifts to the medal winners.
The reception was attended by the President of the Kotor Municipal Assembly Maja Mršulja, Chief Administrator Marina Bjelja, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Social Activities Tatjana Kriještorac, Director of the Tourism Organization of the Municipality of Kotor Jovan Ristic and Dejan Ognjanović, Sports Advisor in the Municipality of Kotor.
