It may have been a defeat in the end, but October 12 will certainly remain one of the most important dates for the Budućnost Water Polo Club.
The Podgorica club played their first official senior match today against Vukov from Novi Belgrade in the Regional A1 League - Aleksandar Aleksić's boys put up strong resistance against one of the favorites, they did not disappoint, but in the end they had to congratulate the better team (10:9).
The course of the match was determined by the first quarter, during which Budućnost was still "searching", and the home team took advantage of everything and won a big 5:2.
Until the end, the "blue and white" chased the result, with a goal by Marko Bošković at the beginning of the third quarter, they threatened to make it 7:6, but the Wolves survived that surge...
Budućnost also threatened during the last three minutes in which, thanks to David Stevović's goal, they entered with minus one (10:9).
However, the nets didn't shake anymore, so that was the final result.
Stevović finished the match with three goals and without a miss, Bošković hit the net twice, and Neđo Baštrica, Igor Uskoković, Goran Grgurević and Mlađan Janović once each.
On the other side, Draško Gogov was the best with four goals.
In the first round of the second regional tier, the remaining two of our teams also lost - Zadar was better than Budva (12:10), while Kataro has to congratulate Zemun (10:9).
In Budva, Dragoljub Ćetković, David Delić and Aleksa Golubović scored two goals each, while in the Qatar team the most effective were Marko Milić with three goals and Nikola Marković and Dušan Milaš with two each.
Interestingly, Budućnost will be back in the pool tomorrow and again in Belgrade - this time the "blue and white" will play against Zemun at 20.30:XNUMX p.m.
