History has been written even though the double program in Belgrade went only partially well for the water polo players of Budućnost. The score of wins and losses is, however, quite satisfactory for the moment in which Aleksandar Aleksić's chosen ones find themselves.
The people of Podgorica are new in the regional A1 competition, this is their debut season in the senior competition, at the start of which they announced that it would not be an easy task for the favorites - first they lost to Vukovo 10:9 in a tight game, and the next day they defeated Zemun 13:9 in the pool. 11. April".
Maybe everything could have been different in that first duel, but Buducnost came back full of impressions from the capital of Serbia - the coaching staff could see what was good, but also what was not and what needs to be worked on in the following period so that Buducnost was competitive with everyone.
"We regret that game with Vukov, which we lost mostly because of our own mistakes, because we weren't right when it was needed the most," said Budućnosti center Neđo Baštrica.
The match with Zemun was tied until the first part of the third quarter. Then Buducnost came away with a three-goal difference. Before the last period, she had a clear 12:6, so the question of the winner was largely resolved.
"We were in some kind of cramp at the beginning of the game, but in the second half we unstuck and calmly brought the game to an end. We are sorry about the game with Vukov, in a way we beat ourselves, but the season is long - we still have a lot to do and I think we will only improve as time goes on", said Baštrica.
Against Zemunac, the Montenegrin representative was led by David Stevović with four goals, three by Mlađan Janović, two by Petar Brnović, and one each by Neđo Baštrica, Danilo Savović, Matija Brguljan and Marko Bošković.
Stevović was the most effective in the defeat against Vukov (three goals), and Bošković (double scorer), as well as Janović, Baštrica, Goran Grgurević and Igor Uskoković also hit the net.
Buducnost will play its next match in the A1 league on October 23, when it will meet Kataro in the Montenegrin derby in the SC "Morača" pool.
Kotor started the season with two defeats (against Vukovo and Zemun), while our third representative in this competition - Budva - lost in Zadar 12:10 in the first round.
