Uskoković's reaction: Tendency is given to one candidate, I have to warn the public about "games behind the scenes"

The candidate for the new president of Vatepolo and the Swimming Association of Montenegro, Veljko Uskoković, reacted to the text entitled "Nikola Milić at the head of VPSCG?" published in "Vijesti" yesterday.

The reaction of the former captain of the water polo national team of Montenegro is transmitted in full.

"As I myself am one of the candidates for the president of the VPSCG, I am not a little surprised by the text published on your portal, in which, a few days before the election of the first person, the VPSCG tends to give preference to one candidate based on unverified facts, thereby misleading and insinuating public opinion.

I would like to draw attention to the fact that I accepted the proposal for candidacy from my home club Primorca based on a gentleman's agreement between the clubs from Kotor and Herceg Novi on the rotating management function, as well as out of the desire to create discontinuity of the current way of managing the Association, and all of course with due respect to all 'smaller and younger clubs' in Montenegro, as well as two clubs that are the mainstay of Montenegrin water polo: Jadran from Herzegnov, which has a tradition of 98 years, and Primorka from Kotor, which turned 102 years old .

From talking to many water polo fans, some of whom are also delegates of the Assembly, I realized that I have their support, because the vast majority are eager for changes in our Association.

Traditional sponsors will not be absent, and I have also held discussions with some new ones who have expressed their willingness to join my team.

I also want to introduce a new vice-presidential function that would be in charge of swimming to give a much stronger flywheel to that sport, which is very popular in the world.

In my sports career, during which I have won almost everything that can be won, I am used to a fair and sporting fight. As in the earlier period various brokerings took place during the election of the president of our Association, I am prompted to react in this way and warn the Montenegrin public about 'games behind the scenes' in which I do not want to participate, but to be publicly and transparently, based on my plan and of the work program, I am fighting for the position for which I ran," announced Uskoković.
