The Extraordinary Electoral Assembly of the Water Polo and Swimming Association of Montenegro, where the president will be elected, will be held on Friday (16) at the VPSCG premises in Podgorica, and the candidates are Nikola Milić and Veljko Uskoković.
Milić was supported by seven clubs, while Uskoković was supported by Primorje. It was Uskoković who called on the delegates today on the social network Facebook to get rid of fear and vote according to their conscience.
"Ahead of the upcoming election of the VPSCG Assembly, I would like to draw attention to the fact that the development of swimming and water polo in Montenegro is at a turning point. In the last ten years, national team and club results have been far below expectations. I believe that I share the opinion of the vast majority of swimming and water polo fans in our country and that we must be dissatisfied with the way the Alliance has been managed so far," wrote Uskoković.
He points out that "hope for a better future is given by the results in the younger representative and club selections, where I also contribute."
"Instead of expanding our base, our clubs are shutting down, and the same is true with the infrastructure. The image of Montenegrin water polo has been shaken by doping scandals, referee scandals in the country and abroad, match-fixing in order to take hundreds of thousands of euros of dirty money from betting shops and etc. It is clear to everyone that my esteemed opponent is a continuation of the current leadership of the Association, and if you want everything to remain as it was, the choice is simple," said Uskoković.
He added that he wants discontinuity and offers a turnaround to the current way of managing the Association, while respecting everything that has been done with quality so far.
"I want us to fight together for a broad-based future of our sports with solutions that I often talk about and that I offered in my Work Plan and Program submitted to the clubs and Assembly delegates. A warning that the general sponsor will withdraw the funding of our sports in the event "My victory is untrue and it seems frivolous, just like those who spread these lies. Despite all the promises that are pouring in these days, I hereby ask the delegates to think carefully, get rid of imaginary fear and vote according to their conscience," said Veljko Uskoković.
