The new president of the Water Polo and Swimming Association of Montenegro is Nikola Milić, who defeated Veljko Uskoković at today's extraordinary Electoral Assembly.
Milić, a former junior water polo player from Primorje, now a successful businessman, entered the election race as a serious favorite, with the support of seven clubs - Jadran Mtela, Budva - Budva Riviera, Budućnosti, Akvatik verdea, Mladosta, Baterflaj and Nikšić.
Uskoković, on the other hand, was nominated by Primorac.
As announced by the VPSCG, 16 of the 17 assembly delegates with the right to vote were present - 11 of them supported Milić.
Milić will perform the function of the first man of VPSCG for the next four years, and at the head of this institution he succeeded Đur Marić, who retired at the beginning of September for personal reasons.
Our Association thus got its fourth president, after Srđan Kovačević was at the helm from 2006 to 2016, Dejan Bajić from 2016 to 2020, and Đuro Marić held that position from May 2021 to the beginning of September.
The first and biggest obligation of the president and the new Board of Directors will be the appointment of the coach of the A national team, because the bench of the "Sharks" has been vacant for almost three months, after Vladimir Gojković's contract expired at the end of the Olympic Games in Paris.
