Nikola Milić received the support of delegates at the Electoral Assembly and became the fourth president of the Water Polo and Swimming Association of Montenegro.
Milić received 11 out of 17 votes and won the election race of the legend of our sport and water polo, Veljko Uskoković.
"I am pleased by the fact that almost all delegates, except for one who was prevented from coming, attended the Electoral Assembly. I think that this is a good basis and foundation for the further development of water polo and swimming in Montenegro. I am convinced that as long as we are all at the table, while we talk and share opinions, clash arguments, so that we can contribute to development," Milić said.
Water polo and swimming must improve.
"Water polo is a sport that the state is emotionally attached to, starting in 2008 and winning gold in Malaga, and I believe that it deserves the role of a national sport, as some researches have shown. I would like to see this come true in my four-year mandate. I promise that I will work dedicatedly and that I will try to contribute to the development of swimming and water polo first of all with managerial knowledge," said Milić and added:
"I believe that together we will create the basis for the profession to have the right working conditions. I wish luck to all members of the Board of Directors and all future participants in the development of our two sports. It is important that we continue to invest in the younger generations and find a model for how to transition from younger selections to senior sport, let's do it the right way," concluded Milić.
