The match in Piraeus directed the drama, the Kotor clash was nowhere near that...
Water polo players from Primorje were defeated 18:9 by Olympiakos in the 4th round of the Champions League and thus practically said goodbye to the elite two rounds before the end of the group stage.
All this means that Vjekoslav Pasković's men will be moving to the Eurocup, the second-highest competition on the continent, where they will start from the round of 16.
The people of Kotor performed a miracle in the first match against the Greek team when they were defeated only after five minutes, but realistically something similar was hard to expect even though the new match was played at the "Zoran Džimi Gopčević" swimming pool.
Olympiakos is in a class of its own, a big favorite in the Champions League, and it showed that today in our bay.
The only uncertainty in the match was brought by the beginning of the second quarter when Primorac went from minus three (4:1) to 4:3 with the goals of Nemanja Vic and Tim Perov. After that, Savo Ćetković had a chance to equalize, but he didn't use the chance, and then the Greeks "scattered" around the Kotor pool.
In just over five minutes, Janis Fudulis and his teammates shook the net of Primorje six times and finished the job in Kotor (10:3).
Until the end, the only question was what the final score would show in the Kotor pool, and it was 18:9.
And the convincing defeat brought a nice story, and that is the young Tim Perov who scored two nice goals.
Vico and Dušan Matković scored twice for the Greek team, while on the other side Dimitrios Dimu was the most effective with five goals and Fudulis and Andro Bušlje with three goals each.
