Petar Porobić, Ranko Perović, Vladimir Gojković, and from now on Dejan Savić.
The water polo national team of Montenegro got its fourth head coach and that big coaching name, the man who won everything with Serbia.
What kind of dominance he made with that selection is best expressed by the 17 medals that the "dolphins" won under his leadership from 2012 to 2022 - among other two Olympic golds (2012 and 2016), three European championship titles (2014, 2016 and 2018). and one world gold (2015).
"The Montenegrin national team will be led by one of the most successful coaches in the history of water polo, whose results have left an indelible mark in this sport. Savić, both in his playing and coaching career, has achieved impressive results that few in professional sports can boast of." , they said from the Water Polo and Swimming Association of Montenegro.
In addition, they say, his deep understanding of the game, talent for tactics and ability to adapt to different challenges have made him one of the most respected coaches in the history of the sport.
"He is ready and extremely motivated to provide our 'sharks' with leadership that will lead them to new successes," added VPSCG.
As they announced, Savić will lead Montenegro and the club in which he is currently employed at the same time until the summer.
"He is bound by a contract with a club from Saudi Arabia, and during our talks he immediately informed the club's leaders that he has a great desire to take over the national team of Montenegro. Due to correct cooperation, it was agreed and accepted that Savić will be engaged both in the club and in our selection by June, and that from June next year our full cooperation will begin until the end of the Olympic cycle," explained VPSCG.
The first competition that awaits the new coach will be the World Cup, which will be held in Romania from January 7 to 12.
