The final of the Cup in Nikšić brought a great match between great rivals - Jadran Mtel entered the match better, but Primorac showed character and won the cup of this competition for the third time with a great turnaround.
The former European champion celebrated 14:11 and half a year after the title, he is celebrating once again.
- This is an exceptional success after all the problems we had during the season - we came out as winners in the first part of the season and my heart is full. I want to congratulate my teammates and thank them for this kind of game. This can serve as an excellent prelude to the continuation of the season and the fight for the second trophy - said Dušan Matković, the hero of Primorje in the final.
Matković was practically flawless, scoring six goals from seven shots.

In May, Vjekoslav Pasković ended Jadran's multi-year dominance in the championship, and now, as the coach of Primorje, he is also celebrating a Cup trophy.
- The beginning was not promising, but as the game progressed, we improved and showed the right form at the right moment. There were a lot of bad results and problems this season, but we managed to get out of it, and that's why I'm most proud of my team. I think we deserved the cup. I congratulate everyone in the club, as well as Jadran, because I think it was a sports confrontation and a wonderful water polo performance - said Pasković.
He also had a message for the fans.
- It means a lot when the audience supports you in important moments, and that really helped us tonight - concluded Pasković.
Jadran led 5:2 and 6:3, but it seems that Draško Brguljan's screw when Primorac reduced it to 8:7 broke the game.
- We opened the match well, had a few goals advantage, but Draško Brguljan's Eurogoal at the end of the second quarter - practically invented, but a superb move - seemed to destabilize us and as if we lost faith in ourselves. Such a goal is not often seen in important matches - Aleksandar Ivović described the goal of his former teammate from the national team of Montenegro.
He also says that he has nothing to complain about the team.
- We played a good match until the end of the third quarter... I'm glad that after ten years we have two good teams - added Leka.
On his return to the Adriatic, Vladimir Gojković did not immediately manage to win a new trophy.
- I congratulate Primorac on the victory, which was fully deserved - he was better during the second two quarters, and we may not have used the periods of good play at the start. We had a rhythm, we entered the game well, but in the end the difference of three is not small... We will analyze everything and turn to the rest of the season - said Gojković.
