Jadran finished the job in Šabac, Primorac drew in the goal game to take a step towards the quarterfinals

The Jadram M:tela water polo players have taken a huge, probably crucial step towards the Eurocup quarterfinals.

The team from Novi Sad is obviously a much better team than Šabac, so they defeated them convincingly for the second time in four days - 13:8 on the road, so the second leg of the round of XNUMX is probably just a formality.

Vladimir Gojković's team dominated from the start and led 4:1 after the first eight minutes, and in the 12th minute it was 6:1.

Later, Jadran's advantage was plus eight (12:4), and the host made an effort to mitigate the defeat and now all that remains is to believe in a miracle in Herceg Novi.

Dmitrij Holod led the Montenegrin vice-champion with four goals, Danilo Radović and Đorđe Lazić scored three each, Jovan Vujović scored two, and Vuk Milojević scored one.

"Šabac is always better at home than away, but we had complete control during three quarters. In the last quarter we got nervous, it could have been more convincing, but I think we are on the right track to advance to the quarterfinals," said Holod.

Primorac also has a good result before the rematch, having drawn in Hungary against BVSC - it was 16:16.

Our champion was down three points on several occasions, the last time 13:10 with five and a half minutes to go, but they got the finish - the final score was set by Dušan Matković in attack with a player more at the start of the last minute.

Matković, Savo Ćetković and Nika Šušijašvili scored four times each, Marko Mrsić scored three goals, while captain Draško Brguljan scored once.

"A beautiful match, with lots of goals. We were chasing the difference the whole time, in the end we managed to come up short with great desire and will, but also with patience. We have a good result before the match in Kotor," said Mršić.

The second legs in Kotor and Herceg Novi are scheduled for February 6th.
