Podgorica has a water polo club again, is it time for a similar story in Nikšić?
"We believe that it is necessary to form a senior water polo team in the town under Trebjes in the future," said Nikola Milić, president of the Water Polo and Swimming Federation of Montenegro.
As reported by the VPSCG, he said this during a conversation with the Mayor of the Municipality, Marko Kovačević, and the Secretary of the Secretariat for Culture and Sports, Dejan Ivanović.
"The goal of the VPSCG is to utilize all the resources and potential that Nikšić has, which are great. In the previous period, work was also done on the development of water polo and swimming in Nikšić, and with a senior team, which would participate in domestic competitions and the Regional League, our base would be strengthened. This requires cooperation between the association and the Municipality, whose idea is to establish PVK Sutjeska," added Milić.

He emphasized that the Federation is ready to make a full contribution in terms of professional staff, organizational assistance and everything they can offer as a national federation, in order to bring the project to life.
"And, we hope that the people who have so far worked on the affirmation, development and promotion of water polo and swimming in Nikšić will participate in this story and idea. We have also presented this to the leaders of the Municipality, whom we thank for their willingness and desire to listen to us and for their readiness to work together towards fulfilling this goal," explained Milić.
Finally, he reminded that strengthening the base and increasing the number of clubs in Montenegro is one of the priorities of the Federation in this Olympic cycle.
"The goal is to increase our base, but also, above all, to strengthen awareness of water polo, as our most successful and most trophy-winning sport," concluded Milić.
