Jadran M:tela water polo players continued their winning streak in the regional Premier League.
The streak began on November 3rd last year, away to Jug, and the same rival has now been defeated at Škver - it was 12:9 for Vladimir Gojković's team.
It seems that the question is no longer whether Jadran will play in the final tournament, the only question is from which position after their 14th triumph in the regional competition.
Jadran never lost a duel with the giants from Gruž, who threatened until the very end and Strahinja Gojković scored a goal for 11:8 with one minute and 56 seconds left in the game.
With exactly 60 seconds left, Dmitriy Holod set the final score.
"We knew that Jug would be a demanding opponent, even though they played without Maro Joković. We did not expect such aggressiveness from our rivals, we did not react to it from the beginning, but we were in control from the beginning. It was important to win in order to stay at the top," said Gojković.
The Russian was the most efficient player on the winning team with three goals, Jovan Vujović and Danilo Radović scored two each, while Gojković, Đorđe Lazić, Matija Sladović, Vuk Milojević and Vasilije Radović scored once each.
The double scorers in Jug's cap were Marko Žuvela and Vlaho Pavlić.
Primorac, on the other hand, could not match Mladost in Varaždin - they lost 15:7.
The "Frogs" led 7:0 at the beginning of the second quarter, and at halftime it was 10:2.
Halfway through the final period, the team from Kotor was down 10 (15:5), but with two goals in the final period, they somewhat mitigated the defeat.
Milan Nikaljević had three goals for the Montenegrin champions, Nika Šušijašvili scored two, and Dragan Drašković and Savo Ćetković scored one each.
Konstantin Harkov, a left-handed Russian who plays for Croatia, scored seven times for Mladost.
Qatar was safe in the A1 league against Nais from Niš - 15:11 with five goals from Marko Milić.
