The water polo players of Buducnost defeated the Medveščak team 11:10 in Zagreb and finished their debut season in the regional A1 league in fifth place, out of 17 teams.
They achieved 15 wins in 20 games, and 17 young water polo players from the Podgorica club had the opportunity to make their debut.
The victory in Zagreb gains in significance if we know that it was achieved without Matija Brguljan, Goran Grgurević, David Stevović and Andrej Durutović.
Buducnost was in the lead throughout the match, had a two-goal lead several times, and at the end of the third quarter it was 8:7.
The home team equalized, but a 3:0 series followed, which settled the question of the winner.
The most efficient player in the winning team was Neđo Baštrica with four goals, Dario Domazetović and Marko Bošković scored two each, and Damjan Vujičić, Petar Brnović and Vladan Vukićević scored one each.
The future now turns to the Montenegrin Championship, where they will chase third place.
