The Jadran M:tel water polo players hoped that the moment was right for the cup to arrive at Škver again, but in the semifinals they ran into a better team at the moment.
The people of Novi had to congratulate their namesake from Split, who deserved to make it to the final four of the regional Premier League (12:9).
"First of all, I want to congratulate Jadran from Split on their well-deserved passage. We opened the match well, but then in the next quarter and a half we lost the game," said Valdimir Gojković, Jadran's coach.
His team took a 2:1 lead, and then couldn't find a way to the net for almost 15 minutes.
"We had a lot of bad decisions in attack and that happened again because it happened against Mladost in the Eurocup, so we have to analyze ourselves - we were not up to the task, especially in the defensive part in the first half of the game," added Gojković.
There was a reaction in the second half, but against a good rival, few expected a turnaround.
"We showed energy later, but Jadran is an experienced team, with players who have won everything to let go of such a lead," concluded the Jadran coach.
