Savić: That goal at the end shocked us, but this is how a team is born

The Montenegrin water polo team came close to a surprise, losing to Croatia 12:11 in the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Podgorica - the decisive goal was Loren Fatović's goal - and what a goal - less than three seconds before the end when he masterfully checked Lazar Andrić.

"Sharks" may have deserved more based on their performance, but a very good performance for most of the 32 minutes of the game was not rewarded.

"Games like this raise individual quality, but also team spirit - this is how a team is born in the end. I hope the audience enjoyed it, but with serious disappointment at the end and certainly none of us can say that we are satisfied after the defeat. That goal at the end was a shock for us," said coach Dejan Savić.

Tomorrow (October 16.10th), the rival is Germany in the fight for 5th to 8th place.

"We have to pull ourselves together for the duel with the Germans," Savić emphasized.

Lazar Andrić was phenomenal in goal, but he couldn't stop Fatović, who finished the match with six goals (five in the second half).

"I was disappointed after Fatović's last goal, but I also laughed because I couldn't do anything. I'm sorry it ended like this, we had energy both in the pool and in the stands in front of a great crowd and I think we deserved more," said the experienced goalkeeper.
