The Board of Directors of the Water Polo Federation of Montenegro has made a decision on the method and criteria for distributing funds to support clubs.
The main purpose of the distribution of funds is to support clubs for the development of water polo in Montenegro, reward for achieving placement in the First League, as well as the Montenegrin Cup, stimulation for participation and the best possible placement in European competitions and within the Regional League, and stimulation for participation in competitions for younger ages in as many categories as possible in order to popularize and popularize water polo.
"This is a decision by which our clubs will receive financial assistance and support in the total amount of up to 150 thousand euros. If we add up the funds that the VPSCG continuously allocates to clubs to cover the complete costs of paying delegates and referees, we arrive at a total sum of 180 to 200 thousand euros, which the VPSCG directly allocates to the clubs," said the president of the VPSCG, Nikola Milić.
"We are aware that our clubs deserve more, but this is the first step. Our league is the strongest Montenegrin club competition, as well as the most uncertain, and the performance of our representatives on the European stage was extremely successful. I believe that this type of support will further stimulate the clubs to work even better and continue to develop. We are also considering the steps we should take to return our national team players to domestic clubs, because we are aware that strong clubs are the basis for good national team results. We will work intensively on this in the coming period, also counting on cooperation with the state," said Milić.
